My Mission

Supporting individuals through trauma-informed therapy and creative expression

My Approach

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker of Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) with an extensive background in facilitating trauma healing. I am passionate about providing quality mental health care through evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. I am also an avid knitter and crocheter and believe that the fiber arts can teach us so much about ourselves, the limitlessness of our creativity, and our ability to attune to the present moment. Let me help you connect with the art of personal transformation.

Get To Know Me

In my clinical practice, I have worked extensively in sexual trauma healing and advocacy at the Pickens County Advocacy Center, where I am still the lead clinician and clinical services manager. I have also worked in the foster care system and in substance use recovery.

In 2020, during the pandemic, l discovered the powerful connection between fiber arts and mental health.

I integrate traditional evidence-based approaches with the therapeutic benefits of knitting and crochet (when appropriate). These timeless crafts offer a unique avenue for self-expression, mindfulness, and relaxation, contributing to a holistic approach to mental well-being.

Who is this for?

Great question! If you:

  • are looking for a therapist to help guide you on your mental health journey

  • live/reside in the state of South Carolina (I hope to offer services to more states soon!)

  • are motivated to work through present issues and their roots in your past (even if you don’t know what those are yet)

  • want relief from the challenges and/or memories you carry

  • have tried talk therapy before, maybe with minimal results, or you have never been to therapy and/or feel skeptical about it

  • OR, have had some success in therapy but want to try something new

… I might be a good fit to walk alongside you on your journey. If you have no interest in incorporating fiber arts into your healing journey, that’s totally 100 percent fine!

What if I’m looking for knitting or crochet tutorials or one-on-one guidance?

Because I am a therapist first and foremost, I would encourage you to find a different instructor if you aren’t looking for a therapist alongside crafting guidance. If you’re solely looking for fiber arts instruction, there are amazing teachers at traditional yarn stores such as Lofty Fiber in Easley who will be more than happy to provide you with one-on-one instruction.
